  • How does a water fire extinguisher work?

    One of the oldest fire extinguishing agents known to man, water fire extinguishers work by discharging a water stream onto the fire. This effectively cools the fuel being burnt and removes the ‘heat’ element from the fire triangle of heat, fuel and oxygen. Once the fuel temperature is below the ignition point, the fire is immediately put out. Simple and super effective.

    This extinguisher type and size are commonly seen around construction sites and mounted on tractors and other machinery. Great for stopping small grass fires and other fires involving wood or paper or fabrics. This type of extinguisher must not be used on live electrical fires due to the water being conductive.
